Title I-A Program

Howard Elementary School is a Title I-A school that receives federal funds to enhance student learning. As a school-wide Title I-A school, all students are eligible for services. Our highly qualified staff are committed to delivering effective, research-based instruction that is timely and tailored to meet the specific needs of our students. Caregivers who have concerns about their child's academic or social development are encouraged to schedule an individual conference by contacting the front office.

Research has consistently shown that family engagement is vital to a child’s success in education. We encourage Howard families to get involved by volunteering in the classroom as a VIM, attending student conferences, contacting teachers via email or phone, or attending Site Council, School Improvement Team, or PTO meetings. Throughout the school year, we offer a variety of family activities, including an Open House, ELL Family Night, and Academic Family Nights focusing on topics like Math, Science, Reading, and Literacy.

All Medford schools have a School Improvement Plan At-A-Glance that includes a Family Engagement Plan to ensure that activities are designed to involve families. Howard’s MSD Promise outlines the goals, expectations, and shared responsibilities of school staff, caregivers, students, and the broader school community to ensure student success.

Please contact us if you’re interested in serving on a committee or if you have any questions or suggestions related to family engagement.
